
We would like
to encourage interested "Members"of
JAMPACT to consider serving on the Board of
Directors for Administrative Year 2010-2011.
Service on the Board provides a
direct opportunity for you to influence the
implementation of our mission to impact
Jamaica. Below we have outlined
important information related to this
process:
FIRST, the Board made the following
important changes to this year's election process and
Annual Meeting:
a.
Members
Only: Only JAMPACT members in good standing, i.e.
you have paid dues for this Administrative Year, will be
invited to attend the Meeting on Wednesday August 18,
2010. We made this change to
incentivize previous members and potential new members
to commit to the organization financially by reserving
certain activities, including attendance at this annual
business meeting, as privileges of membership. We
strongly encourage you to pay your dues before
August 9 in order to ensure your
participation.
b.
Special
Orientation: To ensure that all potential candidates
understand the responsibilities of Board membership, a
special session will be hosted on August 2, 2010
to familiarize potential candidates with the role. This
meeting is not limited to JAMPACT members.
Further details will be provided as to time and
location.
SECOND, we will be voting on two
proposed amendments.
a:
Election Date
Change: Change the Election Month from
August to May in order to provide for a longer
transition period between administrations.
b.
Amendment to Mission: Amend Mission
in order to acknowledge
the international nature of JAMPACT's activities by
expanding the scope of (i) our charitable activities,
to geographic areas where the Jamaican Diaspora
resides and (ii) our think-tank activities, to topical
issues affecting the Jamaican
Diaspora.
THIRD, the election calendar is as
follows:

Deadline to make nominations for President, Vice
President, Treas., Secretary, Membership Chair and
Communications Chair.

and continues until noon on August 18
August 18
Election Meeting and "STATE OF JAMPACT" Business
