Kingston, Jamaica, April 23, 2008 - Jamaica Impact, Inc. (JAMPACT), the New York based NGO, launched its Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at Terra Nova Hotel in Kingston, Jamaica. The program will assist in financing JAMPACT’s adopted basic schools’ teachers and administrators in their pursuit of higher education and professional development in the field of education.
Every year Jamaica Impact (JAMPACT) and United for Jamaica (UFJ) 501(c) 3 non profit organizations, based in New York and Atlanta, Georgia, respectively, teamed up with Jamaican non profit organization, Chichibud for the annual Christmas Treats for three basic schools in Jamaica. This year the organizations got a little help from famed Reggae singer and Rising Star TV judge, Nadine Sutherland. The Christmas treats this year were held at JAMPACT’s adopted basic schools, Coles, Crescent, and St. Stephens over a two day period.

"JAMPACT" continues it's commitment to the promise, potential, and progress of Jamaica and the Jamaican Diaspora, with Kamar Samuels at its helm as the ninth president. Samuels was unanimously voted into office on September 12, 2007. JAMPACT is a non-profit organization based in New York whose mission is to use its collective energies, intelligence and resources to make positive contributions towards the improvement of social and economic improvement in Jamaica.
