Minister Coming Tuesday
In order to
seize the rare opportunity to host Jamaica's Minister of
Education, Youth and Culture, The Honorable Maxine Henry-Wilson,
Jampact will be holding its next general meeting at 6:30 pm on
Tuesday, March 16th at the Jamaica Consulate. The minister will
provide a brief update on the state of Jamaica's education system,
the challenges ahead and the progress being made on educational
issues. She will then open up the floor for questions.

Clothing to Haitian Crisis Sufferers
The United
Caribbean-American Organization of New Jersey (UCAN-NJ), a
non-for-profit organization with a mission to help Caribbean
Nations, is appealing to you to reach out and help and bring
relief to the millions of Haitians who have been the victims of
recent disturbances in their country. Haiti is our neighbor and
one of the most improvised areas in the Western Hemisphere. We
need to support and improve living conditions as the country seeks
to maintain stability and improvement in their standard of living.
UCAN-NJ is
appealing for Canned Food, Clothing (summer wear in good
condition) and First Aid Tools. They are hoping to ship containers

Minister To Deliver Address At Student Conference
The Hon.
Maxine Henry-Wilson, Jamaica's Minister of Education, Youth and
Culture, will deliver the keynote address at the Mount Vernon High
School Caribbean Community Student Conference. The Hon. Ernest
Davis, Mayor of Mt. Vernon and Dr. Basil K. Bryan, Jamaica's
Consul General to New York, will also participate in the event.
