Jampact And The Caribbean Cultural Theatre Celebrate Women's History Month With A Forum And Marketplace Of Caribbean Women In The Business Of The Arts

The forum moderated by acclaimed journalist and editor of Kuji Magazine, Sharon Gordon, will feature prominent Caribbean women who have made an impact the in theatre, literature, film, and music. Presenters will include award winning Trinidadian actress/comedian and co-founder of the Caribbean Cultural Theatre, Susan Olton Kennedy; the ever-popular Jamaican deejay/songwriter turned actress Michelle "Shelly Thunder" Harrison, whose hit 1988 hit "Kuff" propelled her to international fame in the male dominated Dancehall industry; journalist, educator, and community activist Claudette Spence, author of Nurturing the Garden of Joy - Provocative Essays on Relationships; and Patrice Johnson, Jamaican-born director of the documentary Kings County, and the upcoming feature film, The Laundromat.
